About

Hi! I’m Lisa, and currently I am 51 years old. I reside in sunny southern Arizona, and have lived in AZ all my life.

I am a preschool (Head Start) teacher turned 911 dispatcher. I raised 2 sons by myself to adulthood, and we are all still alive.

I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I was diagnosed at 28 and have had a few ups and downs since then. I currently manage my RA with medication and diet.

I love cooking, scrapbooking, gardening, traveling (mostly in AZ) and frugal living. I am currently on my journey towards minimalism and simplicity.

This blog will definitely have cooking, recipes, often small batches. I meal prep and that will be seen here as well. I try to shop for organic, local whole foods. I eliminated sugar a couple of years ago, so most of my recipes will reflect that.

I am an 8.5×11 traditional scrapbooker (for the most part). I dabble with the Project Life app and do some mini albums also.

My gardening is a new thing, and my skills leave a lot to be desired. This will not be an expert gardening blog lol…it will be an “I live in AZ and am trying not to kill this” blog. I live on a 1.25 acre blank slate and am looking forward to learning.

I am generally a homebody, but have started to enjoy some shorter trips to places in my beautiful state. I love photography and am learning to make the most of my iPhone camera as I go through my daily adventures.

When I was a preschool teacher raising two boys, frugality was required. Now they are independent and my income has increased. Frugal ways are much more of a choice now, and I am learning about balance.

I look forward to writing, learning and interacting with each one of you!
